At Saint Mary Seminary, student life takes many different forms. It would be nearly impossible to document the many diverse activities that the community engages in. Considering that our learning community is comprised of both seminarians and non-seminarians, the life of a Saint Mary Seminary and Graduate School of Theology student can differ widely.
This page is devoted to giving you a glimpse into the life of a seminarian at Saint Mary Seminary. Certainly, the majority of our work is related to academics, yet there are plenty of other activities to engage in. These pictures offer a glimpse into some of those activities that our seminarians are able to participate in within the community. Above, is a picture of our annual Night of the Arts in which seminarians from both Saint Mary Seminary and Borromeo share their variety of talents with one another in a relaxed atmosphere.

In addition to such a night, the seminary has an annual football game in which Saint Mary Seminary Seminarians will play the collegiate seminarians of Borromeo Seminary. To the right, is a picture of the 2005-2006 Saint Mary Seminary Football Team, along with Fr. Thomas Tifft, President/Rector. The annual football game is a fall classic at the CPL!
Throughout the week, a great deal of our time is spent in the most important way possible - spending time in the presence of the Lord whether at Mass, Eucharistic Adoration, or at the communal celebration of the Liturgy of the Hours. Each day, the community gathers for the celebration of the Eucharist either at mid-day or early in the morning. Three times a week, the community gathers for Morning Prayer. In addition to these times, weekly on Tuesday afternoons, the community gathers for a Eucharistic Holy Hour. Two of the crowning liturgical celebrations of each school year are the celebration of Ordinations: to the Diaconate in November and to the Priesthood at the end of the school year in May. Below is a photograph of the Prostration during the Litany of the Saints during the Diaconate Ordination of the Class of 2006, which occurred on November 6, 2005. These same men were ordained priests on May 13, 2006.

Without a doubt, the life of a seminarian at Saint Mary Seminary is filled with many different opportunities. Above all, through the academic, spiritual, and social activities the seminary strives to form quality candidates for life-long service to the Church in the Diocese of Cleveland.
