Jesus: The Jewish Storyteller – Jewish-Catholic Colloquium
The Anti-Defamation League, the Interfaith Commission of the Catholic Diocese of Cleveland, the Jewish Federation of Cleveland, and St. Mary Seminary and Graduate School of Theology announce the 26th Annual Catholic-Jewish Colloquium. This annual gathering has provided a venue for open communication and education between members of the Catholic and Jewish communities in Cleveland.
“Jesus, the Jewish Storyteller” will be the topic of the 2014 Colloquium on Thursday, April 24, 2014, at 7:00 P.M. at the Center for Pastoral Leadership. This year’s panel of speakers include: Rabbi David Sandmel, Director of Interfaith Affairs, Anti-Defamation League, Crown Ryan Chair of Jewish Studies, Catholic Theological Union, Rabbi-Educator, Temple Sholom of Chicago, Former Rabbi, Tifereth Israel, Cleveland. The response will be given by Sr. Lisa Marke Belz, PhD., Assistant Professor of Religious Studies at Ursuline College.

The Colloquium features a broad range of topics relevant to both communities. These topics have included religion in public life, relationships with the land of Israel, understanding the Holocaust and the challenge of fundamentalism. The Colloquium is considered one of the outstanding long-term and annual interfaith events for Northeast Ohio.
